There's no place like home.

Although we were treated wonderfully at Barrow, we're so glad to be home!

Immediately after surgery, Dr. Sanai said he was confident that he had been able to remove the entire tumor from Tim's brain. However, we were told that follow-up tests were needed in order to confirm this.

I'm happy to share that prior to discharge Friday night, a follow-up MRI and a pathology report confirmed Dr. Sanai's initial diagnosis and assessment -- ependymoma -- which has been completely removed. All of this is very good news. It means that Tim will not need to follow up with radiation therapy.

Our days currently consist of medication management, naps, and thankfully, short visits from dear friends bringing food, conversation, and laughs. Tim is in quite a bit of pain and his memory is very spotty right now, results of both surgery and powerful medications. If you are in contact with him via text or email, please know that he greatly appreciates the warm notes of encouragement. He reads them, and re-reads them and likes feeling connected to the many people with whom he has been in regular contact over the years.

Assuming Sunday goes well, we are still planning to head to our relaxing retreat in Cape Cod. Thank you for your continued prayers and well wishes!
